About the Artist

Rosalind Walker is a Glasgow born artist, previously living in Portobello, Edinburgh and recently returned to her hometown.

She is a mixed media artist working mainly in acrylic, pastel, collage etc. Her paintings are a mixture of abstract, still life and landscape which she builds up in layers of vibrant colour and rubs back to reveal her own unique style – she also enjoys an abstract form of portraiture.

In the Studio

Rosalind Walker is a Glasgow-born mixed media artist known for her vibrant and layered artworks that blend abstraction, still life, and portraiture. She works primarily with acrylics, pastels, and collage, creating pieces that often incorporate elements of nature, personal experiences, and musical influences.

After living in Portobello, Edinburgh, for many years, Walker returned to Glasgow in 2021, where she now works from her home studio. Previously, she owned The Velvet Easel Gallery in Edinburgh, which provided a platform for her artistic interests.

Recent works include “The Key to Love”, a mixed media piece on board, and “From Darkness to Day” an acrylic and mixed media painting. These pieces reflect her characteristic use of vibrant colors and layered textures. Walker also offers an annual calendar featuring new paintings from throughout the year, available for purchase through her website. Additionally, she has created framed ceramic tile prints of many of her paintings, providing collectors with unique, ready-to-hang artworks.
