Sunlight reflecting on the sands of time…

It was a hugely interesting task…based on information, photographs, poetry and the memories of four generations of this family, the cottage they built in the 1930’s, the area they lived in…a life lived.

A huge amount of thought and planning was put into the preparation by M who gathered all of the information, selected the poetry, wrote the story and gave it to me to do as I would! I eventually felt a part of the family, as if I knew them and felt nostalgia for memories that weren’t even mine…the characters came alive in my head…thanks again for selecting me to paint this…I really felt quite privileged. ?
